The Mission
From the block to the cards.
I'm a Black man who grew up in Compton and Long Beach, California, and now lives in Alabama. Bama Block Battles is built from that walk — bottom to top, West Coast to Deep South. I made this because too many of us turn the energy of the block into obituaries. This game turns it into trading cards.
We're starting in Alabama because Alabama is where I am, and Alabama hood culture deserves the same shine New York and California get on every album cover. We're stretching to Florida, Texas, California, Illinois, Louisiana after Season 1 — every state gets its own deck, its own ghettos, its own OGs and YNs.
What's on the cards
- OGs — the elders, the porch wisdom, the deacons, the mediators. Heavy Rep, heavy Block IQ.
- YNs — short for "young'ns." Hungry, fast, never folds. All cards depict adults — nobody under 18, ever.
- Hustlers, Trappers, Athletes, Wildcards, School & Guardian — the rest of the block: corner-store grinders, rec-league refs, mama bears who come running when school kids get tested.
Gear (power-ups)
You equip culture gear to your card before a round — Whip Keys, Crown Chain, Studio Time, Block Pass, Drip Fit, Burner Phone — each one stacks a stat bonus for an energy cost. No weapons. Not pistols, not AKs, not switches, not bullets. That's a hard line, and it's the line that keeps this game on iOS and Android instead of getting it pulled. We're taking the energy off the street, not bringing it onto the phone.
The respect piece
Every persona is stylized — no real legal names, no likenesses, no active cases, nobody deceased. The hoods are real because the people from those hoods need to know we know. The portraits are illustration. The vibe is the vibe.
We do this with love. We do this because this is how we live, and we don't apologize for putting it in the spotlight. If somebody wants to judge — that's they problem. Juneteenth, Black History Month, every month: we celebrate it loud and we celebrate it in the app (peep the seasonal banners).
Takedown / community
If you (or your family, friend, school) want a card removed, email hello@bamablockbattles.app. No questions, no delay. Or file a report from the in-app Report page — it goes straight to the admin queue.
